The Television Advocacy Awards benefiting The Creative Coalition

A Beautiful event to honor leaders of the television industry who effectively use their voices for social cause.  Hosted by Advocacy Honors, presented by BBVA Compass. Emceed by the hilarious Niece Nash. 

Debra Messing was honored for her work with Population Services International (PSI) which is a global nonprofit organization that works in partnership with local governments, ministries of health and local organizations focusing on the encouragement of healthy behavior and affordability of health products.

Patricia Heaton is a founding member of World Vision’s Celebrity Ambassador Network which focuses on conducting relief, development, and advocacy activities in its work with children, families, and their communities in nearly 100 countries.

Wendi McLendon-Covey was honored for her work with WriteGirl a creative writing and mentoring organization that promotes creativity, critical thinking and leadership skills to empower teen girls.

Sela Ward received the Creating Opportunities Award presented by BBVA for Hope Village for Children which provides specialized treatment programs, services and facilities to meet the needs of neglected and abused children and their families. 

Abigail Disney was recognized for her work on behalf of The Daphne Foundation, an organization that empowers community residents affected by poverty, violence and discrimination to result in a more equitable, fair and peaceful New York City.

Mädchen Amick was honored for her charity work with The National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City, founded by Chuck Lorre, a UCLA fund that provides financial aid to undergraduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. 

The Big Bang Theory Scholarship Endowment, founded by Chuck Lorre, a UCLA fund that provides financial aid to undergraduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.
